The Grundorf Corporation was formed in 1984 to manufacture and repair audio equipment for regional and touring musicians. As the business grew and its reputation for producing quality speaker cabinets increased, audio companies such as Celestion began using Grundorf to design and build their systems. As Grundorf continued its focus on Protective Case sales, a growing demand from touring groups like Manheim Steamroller for sophisticated, application-specific audio systems kept the company occupied.

Eventually, two complimentary divisions were formed: Grund Audio Design and Grundorf Cases.

Grund Audio Design Division - Audio Products for Discriminating Professionals
GAD audio engineers in their fully equipped laboratory, use multiple techniques including LEAP, LMS, Thiele-Small parameters and industry audiophiles for critical listening tests. GAD systems employ cutting-edge materials including asymmetrical horns; Neodymium magnets; Titanium drivers; full-protection circuitry; Baltic Birch wood and third-order crossover networks to precisely match transition between drivers.

With years of on-the-road experience, the common-sense cabinet-design team also takes advantage of Grundorf’s Fabrication Specialists. Benefits beyond audio quality are reduced set-up/tear-down costs and efficient truck packing. The very competitive pricing becomes even better by flexible ordering of accessories on the units.

Grund Audio Design speaker systems carry a 5-year limited warranty.

Grundorf Cases Division – Protection for Your Investment
Grundorf Cases are built for a wide array of applications where portability and mobility are of prime importance. Their innovative and sturdy designs are widely used in houses of worship, educational facilities, corporate A/V, lighting, musicians, rental, DJ and “Pro-Audio” production companies. Their reputation is also built by “on-the-road” durability and ability to accommodate precise but often changing dimensions of almost any type and brand of equipment.

Grundorf’s highly-mobile Combo Cases are in great demand in dual-purpose rooms. These locations include churches, gymnasiums, cafeteria/auditoriums, educational institutions, city council chambers, corporate board meeting rooms and other temporary meeting facilities.

Grundorf has introduced many innovations:

  • Stronger yet lighter weight Mighty Light™ cases and racks. (40% lighter than typical plastic racks and 80% lighter than cheap imports)

  • 3 types of ATA cases

  • Glide Track™ (no rug-to-rug contact)

Grundorf’s Fabrication Specialists take advantage of “Dado” and “Rabbet” joinery, continuous hinges, pressure fitting panels, 4 laminate colors, 2 carpet colors, multiple powder coat type finishes and Baltic-birch wood.

Grundorf Cases - We Protect Your Investment

Involved with audio since he was 12, Frank Grund’s interest in audio continued throughout high school. As an undergraduate student in Iowa, he began his formal education in Electronics. Then, as a talented guitarist, the lure of the road and stardom beckoned.

His skill and reputation in electronics continued to follow him, constantly in demand, when not on tour, to solve application and repair problems for entertainers. In 1984 he and Susan, lead singer and keyboard player, launched Grundorf just a few minutes east of Omaha, Nebraska in a simple garage.

Now as husband and wife, Frank and Susan manage Grundorf Corporation. Manufactured products include Audio Speaker Systems, Racks and Cases for electronics/lighting as well as touring production companies, worldwide.
